Our site exists to promote the enjoyment of outdoor living and the benefits that brings to physical and mental wellbeing. We have a range of facilities, many of which are free to anyone who cares to visit the forest.
There are two composting toilets on site and non-potable water is available for hand washing from our rainwater butt behind the bothy. Please leave these facilities as you would like to find them. These are open and free to all visitors to use.
We have a small bothy for emergency shelter but no electricity. Again, this is free for all visitors to use.
There is an open-air kitchen and BBQ area which you are free to use; there is also a fire pit in the adjacent field but please always observe any restrictions in place on the lighting of fires in the forest.
Rumster Outdoors exists for the enjoyment of outdoor living. You are welcome to camp at our site and there is no charge for camping. Individuals and small groups can just turn up and camp. Larger groups can be accommodated by arrangement, please contact us using the contact page on this website.
And now the exciting bit!
As of 23rd August 2025, we have a brand new Rotunda on site. This building is intended to support any and all activities in the forest; the only limit is your own imagination! The building is open for hire at the following rates. Electric power, eg for projection equipment, tea making etc is available and heating, should it be required, is included in the cost. Please note that the building is not intended for overnight accommodation.

Vehicular access is normally limited to organised events. There is a 1½km walk from the car park to the campsite. Please contact us for more information.
